Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 18th July, 2011

Today's weather;

This morning saw a nice blue sky over Samui. Since I arrived this morning in South Korea, my update is later than usual. and the current temp on Samui is currently 30.4C at 10am

Yesterday saw a very sunny and warm day over Samui with a max temp of 34.5C

This morning I arrived at Incheon International airport near Seoul, where I was picked up by Bookhee, Allen's wife and we took a bus to Osan, where I'm currently staying in a hot and sun bathed town. Current temp at 14.46 local time (12.46 Thai Time) is 34C, yesterday there was still rain here!

Allen is the person through whom's dive center I will conduct a PADI IDC in Osan, actually at the Osan US Air base. Osan will be my home until the 4th August, when I will fly back to Bangkok.

Stay tuned for updates from my trip here in South Korea and the usual updates on Samui's weather, although the latter may be irregularly.

First impressions were good though and I hope to be able to give some updates.

Today's weather;

Samui's sky is turning into a blue one, the clouds are currently being evaporated by the sun. Current temp at 7am is 27.1C

Yesterday saw a nice and sunny morning around Samui with a cloudy afternoon, it remained dry though. Max temp reached 32.9C

Today's weather;

The sky over Samui is shaping up nicely in a blue one, with a few scattered clouds in it. Current temp at 7am is 26.7C

Diving at Sail Rock yesterday, great conditions with around 20 to 25 meters visibility and one of the largest schools of Barracuda's I've ever seen. More diving today at Chaweng Beach

Yesterday saw a nice start of the day with plenty of sunshine but during the course of the day clouds moved in and they brought a few isolated rain showers. Max temp reached 33.5C

Today's weather;

Although the sky is currently clouded, I expect some sunshine later today over Koh Samui. Current temp is 27C at 7am.

Yesterday saw a nice and sunny day with plenty of strong wind though. There was a mini shower in the early evening. Max temp on Koh Samui reached 33.6C yesterday.

Today's weather;

Koh Samui is enjoying rather typical June weather, hot and sunny with some occasional showers. This morning sees a nice blue sky and it promises to be get hot again. Current temp at 7am is 26.8C

Yesterday saw a very warm day around Samui with some rain during the afternoon. Max temp reached 34.2C

Gili Air is going steady, the same weather pattern with blue skies and a few clouds prevails here and during the day time it's nice and warm with cooler evenings.

The sky over Samui is fairly clouded this morning although it's dry. Current temp at 7am is 25C

Samui is enjoying some sunshine this morning and it's warm already very early in the morning with a current temp of 28C at 7am.

Today's weather;

Samui is partly cloudy this morning with a tendency to be more cloudy than blue right now. Current temp at 7am is 27C

Yesterday started out nicely on Samui, around noon clouds came in and during the later afternoon and early evening there was some periods of rain. Max temp reached around 32.5C

Today's weather;

This morning there was some strong wind and a bit of rain on Samui and the sky is currently covered up with clouds. Current temp at 7am is 25.9C

Yesterday saw another nice and warm day around Samui. It's so hot you barely get anything done! We did go and visit the first water park on Samui, Coco Splash in Lamai and the kids just loved it. A report is to follow later today. Max temp reached a whooping 33.3C

The forecast for the 4 to 5 days is strong wind and a little bit of rain, a slight change from the sun cruising days of the last 4 weeks.

Today's weather;

Samui's sky is cloud covered this morning although there were some sunbeams coming through a moment ago. Current temp at 7am is 27C

The forecast until Wednesday is not looking great, plenty of very much out of season rain with strong winds and big waves. Very not like March weather at all!

During yesterday's dive at Chaweng beach we found a lot of rubbish including 8 masks and 2 fins!

Yesterday saw a cloudy but dry morning around Samui. It started to drizzle around 2pm and continued more or less into the evening, sometimes a bit stronger, sometimes a bit less and sometimes with some dry spells. Max temp reached 29.8C

Today's weather;

Samui is covered under clouds this morning although it's dry at the moment. Current temp at 7am is 26.5C

Yesterday saw a lovely start of the day, with near perfect blue skies way into the afternoon, that was the moment when clouds slowly started to appear on Samui's sky. It wasn't until around 7pm that we had a short shower and than almost all night it drizzled. Max temp reached 31.1C

The predictions now are rain and wind from tomorrow until Sunday.

Today's weather;

Samui's morning is shared with a blue sky and a few clouds. Current temp at 7am is 28C

Yesterday saw a mainly cloudy day over Samui with occasional rain showers. Max temp reached 29.7C

I received good news regarding my work yesterday and I started a new cooperation with brand new PADI 5* IDC Center Oceans 5 on Gili Air in Indonesia and it looks like I will conduct a PADI IDC during late July this year in Osan, South Korea. Exciting news and I'm looking forward to travel to these places.

Today's weather;

Samui is covered under clouds and it looks like rain today, the roads are wet right now so some very recent rain came down. Current temp at 7am is 26C

Chevron Barracudas at Sail Rock yesterday

Yesterday saw a nice and sunny day with a max temp of 28.8C

I also went to Sail Rock yesterday and it was like diving in fish soup! Plenty of big shoals of various kinds of barracuda, jack fish, bat fish, fusiliers and also some very big solitaire barracudas, well over a meter long. It was at times just walls of fish, absolutely fantastic!

The day before I already started the dive year with two Dutch DSD's around Koh Tao.

Today's weather;

Samui is ready for some serious sunshine. This morning and also all of next week looks great in the forecasts. Hardly any clouds, no rain but plenty of sunshine. Current temp at 7am is 24.5C

Phuket looks grey and windy and it wouldn't surprise if it will rain later today. Current temp at 7am is 24.7C

Yesterday saw a lovely day on Samui, no rain and sunshine. Max temp reached 28.4C

Phuket was nice all day, some clouds and enough sun to make it an agreeable day. There was some rain during the night though. Max temp reached 30.7C

Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 9th December, 2010

Today's weather;

Samui is on the up again, it's dry! The forecast also predicts dry weather for the next 7 days. Today is still partly cloudy but the improvement is that it doesn't rain anymore. Current temp at 7am is 23.6C

Yesterday morning at Lanta's Baan Kantiang's beach

Koh Lanta is partly clouded today and dry as well. Current temp at 7am is 25.5C

Manta Ray

Yesterdays dives at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang were absolute top class with Manta Ray's during all dives and they hung out during the whole dive! Read my dive blog update for more info and pictures.

Koh Samui still had rain and a power cut yesterday but it was no hard rain anymore. Towards the afternoon it also stopped raining. Max temp reached 27.8C and only 17mm of rain came down.

Koh Lanta had a fantastic day and so did I! From the very start it was sunny and remained that way all day long. The sunset on the way back home on the dive boat was beautiful, as you can see in the above picture. Max temp reached 31C

Today I'm on my way to Phuket were my IDC candidates will start a PADI IE tomorrow.

Today's weather;

The last day of November 2009 starts in a splendid way with sunshine in an almost clear blue sky with a current temp of 24.8C at 7am.

Yesterday was a lovely day, including some dives on Chaweng reef where we spotted a small Grey Bamboo shark, very unusual.
It was a warm and sunny all day long with a max temp of 31.5C.

Today's weather;

It's a lot clearer and brighter this morning with still enough cloud cover, but the sun is having it's wicked ways through some blue patches! It looks a lot nicer for a change. Current temp at 7am is 26.6C.

Yesterday was not a great on Samui, it rained pretty much all day with just a glance of the sun. During the early evening it cleared up though and there was no rain during the night time. Max temp reached 31.8C.

I spent all day on the boats again, diving around Koh Tao and we saw a Whale Shark yesterday, one of the biggest fish and it's pretty much every divers dream to see one. I've put up some pictures of this Whale Shark on my dive blog. We had fairly good weather on Koh Tao with some nice sunshine during the afternoon. All in all a very nice day!

Today's weather;

There's a bit more overcast compared to yesterday and only thin, pale blue spots. The wind seems not to be as strong anymore. Current temp is26C

Yesterday was a nice day, we were out diving with my IDC candidates around Koh Tao in order to complete part of the PADI Instructor Specialty Training program, have a peek here for some underwater pix. It was nice and sunny around Koh Tao and we had a good day out with two lovely dives. Max temp was 33.6C

Update on the IE

My two candidates, Paul and Ton are doing fine so far. We're on day two of the Instructor Examination and they got back from their Open Water presentations/dive and they both passed. Ton even had two 5's on his Open Water presentations, out of 5 that's pretty good!

This morning they had their classroom presentations and although they were a bit nervous, they both passed that part.

Yesterday they already passed their written exam segments. Three down right now and one, Confined Water, to go. All systems are go!
