End of the Buddhist Lent Day or Wan Ohk Pansa
It's 3 months ago since Buddhist Lent day or
Wan Kao Pansa. Today is Wan Ohk Pansa, the end of Buddhist Lent and all monks who were supposed to stay inside their respective temples for 3 months are allowed outside again.

This fact is celebrated each year with big 'show' cars that ferry monks around to show them to the people around their respective temples and many people make merit by spending money and/or new clothes for the monks, which is called thod katien. In this picture you can just about make out a monk sitting in the front of this car.

A side view of the
Plai Laem Temple car. All over the island similar cars were making the rounds today.
