How To Get To Star City From Libertad and Gil Puyat LRT Stations

There's a post entiled Directions to the Star City here in DirectionsOnWeb. Discussed there is the best route one can take from their location to the Star City via MRT and LRT. Now, there are some who preferred their way and ask questions like "How to go to Star City from LRT Libertad Station?". I created this post for them.

From Libertad Station, located in the corner of Taft Avenue and Libertad Street also known now as Arnaiz Street, all you need to do is go to the corner of Taft and Libertad bordering Philtrust Bank. Right there, jeepneys going to Harrison Plaza via Libertad and Harrison streets pass by, and some of them even stand there for a few minutes to get passengers, not exactly in the corner but a few meters from the corner along Libertad Street that borders Philtrust Bank. They turn right onto Libertad from Taft and stop for a while. Their signs read "Harrison Plaza". But you can also ride jeepneys with signs that read "Pier". They both pass by the same route. Ride one of these jeepneys, pay minimum fare and get off at the corner or near corner of Harrison Street and Vito Cruz Street also now known as Pablo Ocampo Street. Walk your way to the sidewalk of Vito Cruz that borders Central Bank, the complex with tall steel black fences, opposite Petron. Wait for the orange CCP shuttle and ride right there. Pay minimum fare and tell the driver that you are going to the Star City immediately after bording the shuttle and ask him to drop you off near Star City. You still need to walk 40 to 50 meters from drop off to the Star City.

From LRT Gil Puyat Station, the quickest way to do it is to ride a jeepney along Taft going to Manila area with signs that read "Quiapo", "Pedro Gil", "Monumento", "Dimasalang", etc. Get off at Vito Cruz also now known as Pablo Ocampo Street and walk along Vito Cruz toward Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Right before the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, you will see the terminal of the CCP Shuttle Service. Pay the minimum fare and ask the driver to drop you off at Star City.

How To Get To Manila Ocean Park From LRT or MRT

If you're near or one jeepney ride away from an LRT or MRT station, going to Manila Ocean Park is very easy. Even if you're a little bit far, taking a taxi to bring you to a station of LRT or MRT is more practical than consuming energy both on gasoline and your natural energy in driving your car all the way to Manila Ocean Park. It's more faster too. So how are you going to go to the Manila Ocean Park by riding LRT or MRT?

There are three ways to reach Manila Ocean Park from LRT and MRT. One way is to walk from the LRT station, the one near to Manila Ocean Park. Another way is to ride a taxi from LRT and let the driver take that short distance from LRT to Manila Ocean Park. The third way is to ride a jeep from the LRT station to the nearest drop off of jeepney route plying along the way of Manila Ocean Park.

Here's how to do it:

How to get to Manila Ocean Park from LRT by walking?

1. From your origin, ride a jeep or taxi or a tricycle if available to the nearest LRT or MRT station. LRT-2 Santolan Station is near to you if you're coming from Marikina, Antipolo and Northwest parts of Pasig. Project 4 is near to Katipunan Station. If you knew your location then it would be very easy to get to LRT or MRT. There are stations of LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3 in almost all locations of central Metro Manila.
2. Buy train ticket or paypass card that will bring you to the last station of LRT-2 or MRT-3. The last station of LRT-2 is Recto Station. The last station of MRT-3 is Taft Avenue Station. This is the case if you are riding LRT-2 or MRT-3. But if you're riding LRT-1, get paypass card that will get you to U.N. Station. It's always important that you know what line of LRT you are going to ride even before you take a ride. To make it more easy, just remember the colors of the different lines of LRT/MRT. LRT-1 is the Yellow Line, LRT-2 is the Purple Line, and MRT-3 is the Blue Line.
3. LRT-1/Yellow Line passengers get off at U.N. Station or United Nations Avenue Station. LRT-2/Purple Line passengers get off at Recto Station and then use the crossway that links LRT-2 to the LRT-1 and get paypass card ticket going U.N. Station. You must cross the LRT-1 and get to the south bound lane or the lane going to Baclaran Terminal. Use the stairs, escalator or elevator. MRT-3/Blue Line passengers get off at Taft Station, use the crossway that links MRT-3 to LRT-1, and get a paypass ticket up to U.N. Station. You must be in the north bound lane, the lane going to Monumento or Roosevelt. Now get off at U.N. Station - the next station after the Central Terminal or Arroceros if you're riding the train coming from Monumento or Roosevelt and if you transferred from LRT-2 in Recto, and the next station from Pedro Gil Station if you're riding a train coming from Baclaran and if you transfered from MRT-3.
4. Walk your way to Luneta Park and then from there you can walk the whole stretch of Luneta or Rizal park from the east to the west where the Manila Ocean Park is located. It's at the back of historic Quirino Grandstand. If you've chosen to walk to the Manila Ocean Park, it would be more enjoyable because you get to see the whole area of the national park of the Philippines.

How to get to Manila Ocean Park by taxi from LRT-1 U.N. Avenue Station?

After getting off the train at U.N. Station, go to T.M. Kalaw Street. That's the street bordering Luneta park to the south. It's more convenient to flag down a taxi there. Besides there are lot's of taxi waiting for passengers along that street.


How to get to Manila Ocean Park from LRT by a public transportation called jeepney?

1. Follow the directions given in topic "How to get to Manila Ocean Park from LRT by walking?" above. But instead of getting off at U.N. Avenue Station, get off at LRT-1 Carriedo Station. It's the third station from U.N. Avenue if you're coming from south or Baclaran Terminal and the station before the Central Terminal or Arroceros Station if you're riding a train from the north or Monumento and Roosevelt.
2. Walk your way to Santa Cruz Church where jeepneys ply the route of Monumento-Baclaran. Make sure that the jeepney sign read "Baclaran Mabini" and not "Baclaran Taft". The bottom line is there must be the word "Mabini" on the jeepney sign that you're going to ride. Mabini is the street nearest to the Manila Ocean Park open for public transportation. Meanwhile, you can get to Santa Cruz Church by walking to the west side of Carriedo Street between Plaza Fair and Philtrust Bank, then turn right on the next corner. The church is up ahead.
3. Tell the driver that you're going to the Manila Ocean Park and that he drop you off in the corner of T.M. Kalaw Street and Mabini. The jeepney will pass through Luneta Park, But don't get off there if you want your walk to be shorten. Wait until you reach the corner of Kalaw and Mabini before you get off the jeepney. Always remind the driver, some of them are forgetful.
4. Now, walk toward Manila Bay. Carefully cross Roxas Boulevard and continue walking until you see the historic Quirino Grandstand to your right. Behind the Grandstand is the Manila Ocean Park. Taking this route will cut the distance of the walk from U.N. Avenue Station by 50 percent.

How To Get To Star City

Route #1

From Cavite, Tagaytay, Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Imus and other areas in these locations. Take Coastal Road or Manila-Cavite Expressway and drive all the way to NAIA Road where Coastal Road ends. NAIA Road is where Coastal Mall is situated to the left corner. NAIA Road is a main intersection with traffic lights. Upon approaching NAIA Road, change lane to the left and turn left on NAIA Road then turn right onto Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard. Stay to the middle of Disdado Macapagal Boulevard, cross three major roads of NAIA Avenue, EDSA, and Gil Puyat Avenue. While approaching Gil Puyat Avenue Intersection, you must stay to the middle of the Macapagal Boulevard. Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard slowly bends toward the opposite street which is Magdalena Jalandoni Street. Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard ends up in Gil Puyat Avenue and Magdalena Jalandoni Street begins after crossing Gil Puyat Avenue. Upon reaching Magdalena Jalandoni you're already inside CCP Complex ground. Stay to the right of Magdalena Jalandoni to easily see entrance to the Parking Area of Star City.

Route #2

From Alabang, Pacita, Metropolis Star Mall, Sucat, and other areas nearby. Take the Skyway and exit on Gil Puyat. Avoid getting to the Gil Puyat Avenue flyover. Turn left on Gil Puyat Avenue and drive all the way to the ground of CCP Complex passing under LRT-1 and the Roxas Blvd flyover. Stay to the right of Gil Puyat after crossing Roxas Blvd. Turn right onto Magdalena Jalandoni Street, the next street after Roxas Boulevard. Upon reaching Magdalena Jalandoni you're already inside CCP Complex ground. Stay to the right of Magdalena Jalandoni to easily see entrance to the Parking Area of Star City.

Route #3

From Bulacan, Pampanga, Northern Luzon and some parts of north Metro Manila except Navotas and Malabon. Take A. Bonifacio Avenue and Dimasalang Street to Quezon Boulevard. On Quezon Boulevard go straight up to Quiapo and Lawton, crossing Pasig river via Quezon Bridge. Road name changed to Padre Burgos after passing Lawton area, and the road also bends to the left. Stay to the right of P. Burgos Street to avoid getting onto the Lagusnilad underpass and Taft Avenue. After crossing the intersection of the street bordering Manila City Hall, stay to the middle of Padre Burgos. After crossing three stop lights, stay to the left of Padre Burgos Street and then turn left on Roxas Blvd. Drive on Roxas Blvd all the way and cross Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. Before you reach Pablo Ocampo you will cross intersections of U.N. Avenue, Pedro Gil and Quirino Avenue. After Quirino Avenue to your right is Manila Yatch Club, then Philippine Navy Headquarters and next to it is the CCP Complex. Stay to the right of Roxas Blvd after crossing Pablo Ocampo Street. To your right at this time is the CCP building. Finally turn right onto Vicente Sotto Avenue in the CCP Complex. You can now see the Star City. Follow the signs to the Parking Area.

Route #4

From Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela and nearby areas. Take Jose Abad Santos Avenue. Jose Abad Santos Avenue ends up in Recto. Cross Recto Avenue and Reina Regente begins. Drive on Reina Regente up to Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz. Turn right to go with the flow of one way traffic around Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz turning left on Juan Luna Street. Stay on Juan Luna crossing Dasmarinas Street. Follow where public jeepneys turn. Turn left on the next street after Dasmarinas. Turn right onto Jones bridge. You are now taking Padre Burgos Street. Stay to the right of P. Burgos Street to avoid getting onto the Lagusnilad underpass and Taft Avenue. After crossing the intersection of the street bordering Manila City Hall, stay to the middle of Padre Burgos. From Fairview, U.P. Diliman, Philcoa, Commonwealth, Project 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, Munoz, Congressional and other parts of Quezon City as well as Sampaloc near Espana. Take Quezon Avenue all the way to Espana then take Lerma onto Quiapo and Lawton, crossing Pasig river via Quezon Bridge. Road name changed to Padre Burgos after passing Lawton area, and the road also bends to the left. Stay to the right of P. Burgos Street to avoid getting onto the Lagusnilad underpass and Taft Avenue. After crossing the intersection of the street bordering Manila City Hall, stay to the middle of Padre Burgos. From Makati take Ayala and Gil Puyat Avenue and drive all the way to the ground of CCP Complex passing under LRT-1 and the Roxas Blvd flyover. Stay to the right of Gil Puyat after crossing Roxas Blvd. Turn right onto Magdalena Jalandoni Street, the next street after Roxas Boulevard. Upon reaching Magdalena Jalandoni you're already inside CCP Complex ground. Stay to the right of Magdalena Jalandoni to easily see entrance to the Parking Area of Star City.

Route #7

From Pasig, Sta. Mesa and neighboring vicinity take Ramon Magsasay Blvd and Legarda Street crossing Nagtahan by taking flyover to Legarda. On Legarda Street, just cross Recto Avenue. Legarda ends up in Arlegui but the road continues under the name of P. Casal Street. Drive on P. Casal and cross Pasig River via Ayala Bridge. You are now in Ayala Blvd. Go straight crossing Taft Avenue passing under LRT-1. You are now in Finance Road. Turn left on Padre Burgos cross another intersection with stop light then turn left on Roxas Blvd. Drive on Roxas Blvd all the way and cross Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. Before you reach Pablo Ocampo you will cross intersections of U.N. Avenue, Pedro Gil and Quirino Avenue. After Quirino Avenue to your right is Manila Yatch Club, then Philippine Navy Headquarters and next to it is the CCP Complex. Stay to the right of Roxas Blvd after crossing Pablo Ocampo Street. LRT-2 and LRT-1 are interconnected so you will not get lost. Take LRT-1 south bound or Baclaran bound. Get off at Vito Cruz Station. From Vito Cruz Station, walk up to Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. Then from the corner of Pablo Ocampo and Taft Avenue walk toward west along Pablo Ocampo until you see the terminal of the colored orange shuttles that ply the CCP Complex-Taft route. It's near to the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these shuttles and ask the driver to drop you off at drop off or unloading area nearest to the Star City. MRT-3, all Stations. From your station, get off at Taft Station then take another train ride North bound or Monumento bound on LRT-1. LRT-1 and MRT-3 are interconnected. Get off at Vito Cruz Station. Then from the corner of Pablo Ocampo and Taft Avenue walk toward west along Pablo Ocampo until you see the terminal of the colored orange shuttles that ply the CCP Complex-Taft route. Route #1

From Baclaran ride a jeepney with sign that contains "Mabini Harrison" Get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. Along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz near corner Harrison Street, wait for a colored orange shuttle that plies the CCP-Taft route. Ride one of these shuttles going west or Manila Bay for CCP Complex. If you ride a shuttle going east, it will bring you to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and Taft Avenue instead of the Star City. So make sure you're on the right lane.

Route #2

From Monumento take jeepney to Baclaran and get off at Vito Cruz. Now, there are two routes of jeepneys going to Baclaran from Monumento. One is via Mabini and the other one is via Taft.

If you ride a jeepney via Taft, then get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. And then from the corner of Pablo Ocampo and Taft Avenue walk toward west along Pablo Ocampo until you see the terminal of the colored orange shuttles that ply the CCP Complex-Taft route. It's near to the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these shuttles and ask the driver to drop you off at drop off or unloading area nearest to the Star City. You need to walk a little bit from the drop off.

If you ride a jeepney via Mabini, then get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. If you ride a jeepney via Taft, then get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. And then from the corner of Pablo Ocampo and Taft Avenue walk toward west along Pablo Ocampo until you see the terminal of the colored orange shuttles that ply the CCP Complex-Taft route. It's near to the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these shuttles and ask the driver to drop you off at drop off or unloading area nearest to the Star City. You need to walk a little bit from the drop off.

If you ride a jeepney via Mabini, then get off at Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz. Along Pablo Ocampo Street formerly Vito Cruz near corner Harrison Street, wait for a colored orange shuttle that plies the CCP-Taft route. Note: There are few jeepneys that ply directly from Cubao to Baclaran. If you can wait for them along Aurora Boulevard, then ride one of them. Then follow the directions given above. Quiapo bound jeepneys are also located along Aurora Boulevard in Cubao.

Route #4

From Guadalupe Makati, ride jeepney bound to Pedro Gil Taft. From drop off walk up to Taft Avenue. Ride another jeepney bound to Baclaran or Libertad. Get off at Vito Cruz now known as Pablo Ocampo Street. Then from the corner of Pablo Ocampo and Taft Avenue walk toward west along Pablo Ocampo until you see the terminal of the colored orange shuttles that ply the CCP Complex-Taft route. It's near to the gate of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Ride one of these shuttles and ask the driver to drop you off at drop off or unloading area nearest to the Star City. You need to walk a little bit from the drop off.
