During my recent stay in Pattaya, we, my student Sunil and myself, stayed at the Amari Nova Platinum in South Pattaya.

The reason for our visit was a wreck dive trip for some Instructor level speciality training, which we completed earlier this week.

The Nova Platinum is ideally located, near the famous Walking Street and main entertainment area and shopping opportunities.
This Pattaya hotel has 78 guestrooms, featuring a 32” flatscreen television, a DVD player, free wireless Internet access and an array of modern facilities. Guests will enjoy a tropical garden, a large swimming pool, a jacuzzi and water slide plus there's a small gym as well, next to the pool.

A second building has already been completed and a third building will be completed with in 3 months. This newest building will have a pc in each room.

Today's weather;

Later today I'll be heading back to Koh Samui but for right now I'm still in Pattaya looking out from the great Amari Nova Platinum at a blue sky with a few clouds in it. Current temp is 29C at 7am.

Yesterday saw a very warm day in Pattaya although there was cloud cover almost all day. Max temp reached 33.5C

Samui saw once more a very hot day with a max temp of 35.5C

Today's weather;

After a bit of a sleep in today, here's Pattaya's weather update for the day, bringing you a nice blue sky and a current temp at 10am of 32C.

We're enjoying the Amari Nova Platinum, highly recommended if you like to stay in South Pattaya and Walking Street.

Tomorrow it's off to Samui again, for more home made updates.

Yesterday saw a warm and sunny day around Pattaya with a shower at 9pm, bringing with it a very nice cool down effect. Max temp reached 33.7C

Samui saw another nice and hot day with a max temp of 34.7C

Today's weather;

Pattaya City is already warm very early in the morning with a blue sky and thin clouds all over it. It looks like a hot one is in the making. Max temp at 7am is 29.5C.

Yesterday saw plenty of sunshine and a warm day with a max temp of 33C in Pattaya. The diving has been completed now and it's time for some relaxation and shopping.

Samui was like a steaming sauna yesterday, with a max temp of 36.2C.

Today's weather;

A blue sky with some fluffy skies rules over Pattaya today. It looks like another nice and warm day again with a current temp at 7am of just below 29.5C.

Max temp yesterday was over 34.2C.

Koh Samui was hot with a max temp of 34.9C and there was a drizzle of rain at one point.

A nice blue sky with some clouds in it rules over Pattaya this morning. Current temp at 7am is 29C

Yesterday was a nice day with slight overcast so not too hot. Max temp reached 32.6C

Today's weather;

A partly cloudy sky has formed overnight over Pattaya. Current temp at 7am is around 26C.

Today we will be making our way back to Koh Samui with an overnight stay somewhere on the road.

Yesterday was a lovely in Bangkok whilst we visited Dream World with a bit of overcast so it wasn't that very hot, just like in Pattaya around 34C as a max temp.

A blue sky with an occasional cloud in it watches over Pattaya this morning. Current temp at 7am is 26C.

We're off to Bangkok today to visit Dream World, an amusement park, which will get our children excited.

Yesterday saw blue skies and hot temperatures in Pattaya. Max temp reached around 32C.

Family time in Pattaya

Family time in Pattaya

Since two days I'm done now with diving and it's time to spend some time with the family in Pattaya and yesterday we went to Pattaya Underwater World. A relatively small walk through with lots of fish in their aquariums though. The children had a blast, running from one place to the other and looking at the fish.

Here's a guitar shark and there were plenty of other sharks like Leopards and black tips amongst others.

We were lucky to be bale to witness the feeding and a diver got in the water with a big bucket of fish meat which caused a feeding frenzy and was fun to watch.

Than it was on the the road between Pattaya and Jomtien to visit Pattaya's Big Buddha.

Near Big Buddha is a smaller temple and a Thai Navy memorial where you can have this lovely view over Pattaya.

Today we went to Central Festival Pattaya where much to the delight of my son an Ultraman show was scheduled. For us adults, it's always nice to shop in a nice air conditioned mall especially if it's so hot outside

More family things are scheduled for tomorrow, so stay tuned.

An almost clear blue sky looks out over Pattaya this morning with a current temp of 26.4C at 7am.

Yesterday saw plenty of sunshine and hot temperatures with a max temp of 32.5C in Pattaya.

Glad the diving was over, after 3 days back to back I needed a bit of a rest!

There was no update on yesterday's weather since I was participating in an exploratory wreck dive trip in the Gulf of Thailand for which we left at midnight and we didn't come back until 9pm last night. A review can be read on my dive blog.

The weather was magnificent though with sunshine all day long and we had a max temp of 33.5C.

Yesterday Pattaya experienced a warm and sunny day with a max temp of 33.5C. Not bad!

We also completed the first day of wreck diving successfully with another one following today.

Today's weather;

It's blue but with plenty of clouds around in Pattaya although it doesn't look like rain. Current temp at 7am is 27C.
In an hour I'll be sailing off for the first day of three days worthwhile of wreck diving.

Yesterday saw another lovely day with a blue sky all the way from Chaam to Pattaya. Max temp reached 32.7C in Pattaya.

Yesterday was a nice sunny and warm day with a max temp of 31.2C.
Later today I'll be off to Bangkok for two more days and on Wednesday evening it's back to Samui.

Today's weather;

The sun is out, shining brightly over Pattaya this early in the morning. Current temp is 26.2C at 7am. Today is our last day of wreck diving in Pattaya.

Yesterday saw some threatening dark clouds in the morning as shown on the picture above but it stayed dry all day long and the sun joined in as well occasionally. Max temp reached 30.6C.

Pattaya has plenty of overcast with a current temp of 26C.

Yesterday saw once more a lovely and sunny Samui but Pattaya was overcast and it had rained just before we landed. Once in Pattaya it stayed dry all day and there even was an occasional sunbeam. Max temp reached just below 30C,

Today's weather in Pattaya;

It's looking like a clear blue sky is shaping up. Current temp at 7 am is 23C at 7 am in Pattaya.

Yesterday was a warm, sunny and dry day with a max temp of 29.4C. Overall it seems to be slightly warmer in Pattaya than it is on Samui.

Today I'll be back on Samui again, from tomorrow onwards, there will be Samui weather updates again. Did some real enjoyable wreck diving here in Pattaya, which I commented about in my dive blog, in case you're interested.

Pattaya temples

An unusual view of Pattaya, one of it's Temples;

On the corner of PattayaThai and 2nd Road is a very big Temple which I visited this morning. Due to fact that it's Macha Bucha day, the temple was crowded with locals paying respect to Buddha.



Inside the Temple grounds I found this explanation which is always useful when you're visiting a Temple or attraction.

As already mentioned, the Temple was packed with locals paying respect to Buddha, the priests are doing overtime blessing all the people visiting today.

This beautiful stupa is also located within the Temple grounds and it's surrounded by brass bells, which. One is supposed to walk around with a big wooden stick and hit each individual bell. Since it was so busy, there was a bit of a noise going on here!

Last but not least, I also went up the hill overlooking Pattaya, where there's another Temple and a Navy statue of Admiral Krong Luang Jumborn Khet Udonsak.

The views over Pattaya bay and the surroundings are stunning here and are an absolute recommendation, especially in the evenings after sunset!

Today's weather in Pattaya;

A few clouds are in the sky and a warm and sunny day seems to be building up with a current temp at of 7 am of 22C.

Yesterday was a dry and warm day in Pattaya with a max temp of 31C.
We had an excellent dinner last night at the Swiss House in Soi Diamond, well worth a visit. Goulash, mixed kebab a set pork menu and a very good Cordon Blue stuffed with Swiss cheese were on the menu.

Very late today but nonetheless, it was fair weather today in Pattaya. At 16.00 it's 28.5C.
