Bangkok Air cancels all flights to/from Samui today

It ain't getting better!

Word on Thai Visa has it that Bangkok Airways just cancelled all flights to/from Samui and come to think of it, haven't heard planes all day yet (we live not too far from the airport). Here's a good link to a website that lists arrival times for Samui bound Bangkok Airways flights.

This picture is taken from the road leading out of Big Buddha, towards the main road. The grey spots in the middle are fishing boats taking shelter in Bang Rak bay. If the fishing boats come in, it means that it's spooky out on the ocean.

A picture of the actual Big Buddha area, normally one can see the rocks on the bottom of the water here, now speedboats can float around easily!

The school yard of the Wat Plai Laem school, now surprise school's out today. Our daughter is not going to school neither today and most likely tomorrow as well she'll be staying home.

A look on the roads from the inside of my car, water is literally everywhere and alongside the roads, many roadsides have been swept away, which makes for rather unhealthy drop offs for cars and bikes.

Did I mention yet that the wooden doors swell up and can't be locked and that inside the houses, everything starts to smell mouldy, let alone the toilet containers that are over flooded and can't take in any more toilet water. The joys of living in the tropics on a 'developed' island ;-)
